Xiaomi isn't a household name in the US, but it's a brand of electric car Ford CEO Jim Farley has been driving for the past few months. This is notable because Xiaomi wasn't even an automaker a couple of years ago. But just days ago the company's SU7 Ultra sedan posted a very respectable time at the Nürburgring, at least in prototype form. And the production version is promised with nothing short of a 217-mph top speed. Here's why we'll be hearing more about Xiaomi in the coming years.
We knew Cadillac's electric offerings would eventually get the V-Series treatment, but until this week Cadillac remained mostly tight-lipped about its sporty EV plans. The current Lyriq already serves up 515 hp and 450 lb-ft in dual-motor form, which is arguably plenty for most luxury EV shoppers.
But for 2026 those in the market for a quicker Lyriq will be able to choose a performance-flavored version. Here's our first glimpse of this upcoming model.

A midsize electric truck is in the works as well, and this week Ford CEO Jim Farley told Wall Street analysts quite a bit about the project, which could result in the smallest and most affordable electric pickup on the market when it arrives. But is the upcoming truck likely to stick to the price estimates that have been forecast thus far? Here's the latest on the F-150 Lightning's smaller sibling.
