Tesla's NACS is poised to conquer the US

Tesla Charging Network: All the Upcoming Compatible EVs         Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) received an unexpected boost earlier this summer, setting into motion nothing short of a charging standard revolution. Starting in 2024 a number of automakers will offer owners of their EVs adapters that will allow them to use Tesla Superchargers, ahead of making NACS ports standard items in 2025.     It's a big change, and it arrived largely without warning, even though Elon Musk had talked for years about opening up the Supercharger network to other automakers.    "We've spent the last 10 years building an industry-leading Charging Network that enables freedom to travel and provides charging confidence for our Tesla owners," Rebecca Tinucci, Tesla's senior director of charging infrastructure, said earlier this year.    Here's the full list of compatible EVs from other automakers that will soon be able to use Tesla Superchargers. And it's quite a departure from what we've seen from Nissan in the recent past, even though the overall profile of this crossover should remind you of the Ariya.    Exterior design appears to be the main focus of this crossover, but Nissan plans to preview some new technologies with it as well.    "The car represents future design and technological capabilities of Nissan's electric offerings. The exterior's lime yellow body changes chromatic expressions depending on the angle that light hits it, effectively drawing attention while also blending into the surrounds," Nissan notes.    But does this concept car preview an edgier Ariya of the future, or something far closer, like the next-gen Leaf? But even given the number of developers working on solid-state compositions, they aren't expected to arrive on the market until late in the decade, in a best-case scenario.     One company (which is also working on solid-state batteries) has a different battery type in mind, and it thinks its design could offer 100 miles of range after just 5 minutes of charging, once it's commercialized.    "Our 100in5 battery cells are already being tested by 15 global OEMs and partners, and results show that the XFC revolution is within reach," says Dr. Doron Myersdorf, StoreDot CEO.    Here's why several automakers have invested in this company.
