The Tesla Cybertruck is finally here, at least for a small group of owners who have waited years to receive their sharp-edged vision of the future. In that time several other EV trucks have gone on sale, and more are on the way.

Those who fell in love with the 2019 concept's uncompromising exterior styling are no doubt pleased—the production version has changed little since that fateful day. (But its starting price has certainly changed).

The first batch of production trucks were delivered last week in a ceremony full of spectacle, with Tesla taking the opportunity to offer a follow-up to the famous window vs. ball bearing stunt at the prototype's 2019 reveal.

Now that most of the specs are known, it's time to take stock of just what Tesla has achieved in this segment.

Electric Saab-Adjacent Emily GT Could Yet Return

The chances of anything even distantly Saab-related making a comeback may have seemed dead in the water when production stopped at NEVS in Trollhättan, Sweden.

That may yet change. An effort is underway to bring the last EV designed by NEVS engineers to production, with the Emily GT bearing a close-enough resemblance to the very last Saab 9-5—except this sedan will offer a massive battery and four electric motors.

EV Electra is the company that has now inherited NEVS' assets, and it plans to restart production in Trollhättan under its own name.

But is another large sedan with a giant battery what EV buyers are looking for at the moment?
