2025 Tesla Cybertruck Is Now Eligible for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit One might have thought the Tesla Cybertruck was eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit this whole time. But buyers of the... extremely noticeable truck will only now begin to benefit from this incentive. The dual-motor truck still starts at a hefty $82,235 (prior to the credit) for 2025, if you absolutely must have a new one. (The prices of used Cybertrucks are considerably more attractive). But an even more affordable version is believed to be on the way, or at least it was a short time ago. The single-motor variant has yet to go on sale, and this should lower the price of entry for Tesla's cybernetic truck along with the tax credit. Here are a few other models that are now eligible for the $7,500 tax credit.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Electric Crossover Descends from Thin Air In the closing days of 2024, a team from Hyundai Motor India Limited set a new Guinness World Record for the greatest altitude change by an electric car. Over the course of two weeks the team drove the Ioniq 5 from an altitude of over 19,000 feet in the Himalayas to the south of India, arriving at a point just a few feet below sea level. And Hyundai didn't even use the new XRT model. Among other things, the trip took the Ioniq 5 across most of India, driving from the mountains in the north to the southern tip of the subcontinent, demonstrating the Ioniq 5's long distance driving ability. But finding charging in the Himalayas and throughout the whole trip was not difficult, it turns out. Here are some surprising things from this expedition. |

New Ford EV Customers Get a Free Charger and Home Installation The Ford F-150 Lightning has now been on sale for a while, in EV terms, with Ford having already dialed back production of its electric truck amid signs that the demand in this segment is still shrinking. And now the automaker has extended its generous deal-sweeteners for its F-150 Lightning as well as its other EVs by a few months, beyond the usual year-end efforts to clear out unsold vehicles from the outgoing model year. But could this incentive be extended even further, or eventually become a permanent perk? |
