The Ram 1500 Revolution Concept Previews EV Pickup Ram took the wraps off the 1500 Revolution Concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week, previewing its entry into a segment that is filling up quickly. Featuring a design very different from what Ram truck buyers are used to, the concept adopts a futuristic but still rugged appearance. The interior is as innovative as the exterior, with the automaker relying on ambient lighting, a transparent roof, and sharp-edged details to create a sci-fi atmosphere. A two-screen display measuring 28 inches certainly helps in this regard. Stellantis design boss Ralph Gilles shared plenty of details with us this week, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the design process. Just when will we see the production version on sale? Read on to find out. |

VW ID.7 Sets Its Sights on the Tesla Model 3 Challengers to the Tesla Model 3 are finally on the way. Volkswagen unveiled the ID.7 concept at CES this week, previewing a sedan we'll in North America relatively soon. On track to join the ID.4 already on sale, the ID.7 promises a massive range along with a spacious cabin, courtesy of the roofline stretching all the way to the rear spoiler. Viewed in profile, the camo still hides quite a few surface details, but a couple of other angles reveal what should be a very spacious and aerodynamic EV. "With the new ID.7, we are extending our electric model range into the upper segments. The sedan will offer top-class technology and quality," said Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars. Just how many versions of the ID.7 will we get? It's clear that VW will want to offer a wide menu for this particular EV, at least globally, but we can be reasonably sure to get at least a couple of battery options along with a choice of dual- or single-motor setups. Read on to find out much range is VW promising in the top version. |

BMW's i Vision Dee Can Transport You to Fantasy World This year's Consumer Electronics Show had no shortage of cars with futuristic interiors and exteriors, but it's clear that there was one vehicle in this category that took it to the max. BMW's avant-garde concept combined a retro exterior with an interior that seems spartan—at least at first. The i Vision Dee concept, which stands for Digital Emotional Experience, is meant to showcase augmented reality tech, with the entire windshield and side windows becoming projection screens. "The BMW Mixed Reality Slider, in combination with the advanced head-up display, is the digital highlight and central operating control of BMW i Vision Dee," the automaker said. "Using shy-tech sensors on the instrument panel, drivers can decide for themselves how much digital content they want to see on the advanced HUD." What are the odds we'll see tech like this in future BMW cars? Pretty good, actually. BMW says we'll see this tech debut in the Neue Klasse EVs relatively soon.
