Ford Plans EREVs While Tariff Threats Loom Large      Ford may have scored early hits with the Mustang Mach-E, which is now outselling the Ford Mustang, and the F-150 Lightning, having beaten Tesla to market with an EV truck of its own.    But Dearborn is far from betting it all on EVs, having cut back F-150 Lightning production some time ago to correspond to demand. And Ford also canceled plans for a large electric SUV not too long ago.    Now, the automaker is signaling that EREVs, or extended-range electric vehicles, may be a better fit for some buyers as the transition to EVs reaches a plateau of sorts, citing much lower costs for consumers and a greater combined driving range.    Here's what Ford is planning. READ THE FULL STORY VW Previews Its Most Affordable EV Yet      Volkswagen's development of its ID lineup dates back about a decade, but the US has received just two models so far, with Wolfsburg keeping a number of EVs in other regions, including the ID.3 hatch and the ID.7 sedan and station wagon.    Now, the German EV maker is planning an even smaller EV, targeting a starting price of €20,000 ($20,700), while feeling pressure from Chinese automakers in Europe. So getting an entry-level version of any model can often mean waiting a few years.    But just over a year into Cybertruck production, it appears there are still some unsold Foundation Series trucks awaiting buyers.    Tesla has been applying a heavy dose of incentives to keep the trucks moving off store lots in recent weeks.
