And the era of software-defined vehicles, or SDVs, portends no retreat from this new classification.    When it comes to EVs at CES this year, one of the more consequential attendees will be the relaunched Scout Motors, whose truck and SUV were revealed in concept form just weeks ago.    And one Japanese automaker will appear at CES for its first time ever, we hear. And the move appears to have been prompted in part by the EV transition, which has seen both Japanese giants cautiously navigate a steadily growing market for battery-electric models.    But the two now face increased pressure from Chinese EV makers, pressure that wasn't there just five years ago.     Here's how Honda and Nissan could help each other in the coming years.  READ THE FULL STORY MG Cyberster Is an EV Roadster with Gullwing Doors      As deep-pocketed EV fans await the debut of Tesla's long-delayed roadster—with or without rocket-assisted handling—it is worth noting that few other EV makers seem eager to field something in this segment. And perhaps with good reason.    But one brand that was once popular in the US now has just such a vehicle, and it has a name Tesla probably wishes it had come up with first.     We have recently driven the MG Cyberster, which won't be easy to get stateside anytime soon, to put it mildly.    But is it actually something that could do well in North America if it were offered here?
