Our Favorite Cars, Boats, and Airplanes from CES The Consumer Electronics Show had long ago become a major auto show, and the numbers of EV concepts seen on the show floor this year certainly did not disappoint. Not only did we get to see the upcoming Ram 1500 Revolution in concept form, along with the Volkswagen ID.7 that will target the Tesla Model 3 in the near future, but we got one step closer to the world of Tron with a hubless electric motorcycle on display. If there was an early crowd favorite at CES this year it was probably BMW's funky i Vision Dee, featuring an exterior that can rapidly change colors and an interior with augmented-reality projections on every piece of glass. No CES can be complete without an autonomous travel pod with sliding doors, and this year it was Italdesign's turn to reveal the transport shuttle of the future, dubbed Climb-E. Dive in to see our round up of CES concepts whether they're electric cars, electric motorcycles, electric boats, or something closer to electric flying cars.

Honda and Sony Team Up to Launch New EV Brand Speaking of CES, while Honda and Sony's reveal of a new concept sedan may not have inspired quite the same reactions that Sony's earlier CES prototypes did, the amount of interior tech on display in the electric Afeela sedan was more persuasive. That's right: Honda and Sony used CES to unveil a new car brand dubbed Afeela—a name that has prompted quite a range of... feelings among industry observers. The concept sedan itself showcased SAE Level 2 tech helped by 45 cameras and sensors, with Level 3 autonomy in the works as well. The main event, if not the reveal of the brand itself, was perhaps the concept's screen-filled dash. Details about the EV's powertrain were scarce, but earlier Sony concepts gave a few hints about what we could see by the time it arrives on the market. However, it will be a while before you'll be able to stroll into an Afeela dealership, so EV tech will have certainly evolved by the time we see these on the road. Read on to find out just what Sony and Honda are planning for this new brand. |

Revel Plans Largest Charging Hub in the Western Hemisphere New York City hasn't been the easiest place to own an EV, with the rollout of public charging infrastructure running into a myriad of problems in the tightly packed metropolis. And opportunities for charging at home for EV owners in New York are not exactly identical to those in big cities on the West Coast. Revel, operator of an EV ride-sharing network in the city, wants to change that in the near future with plans for a hub that would be the largest public fast charging station in the western hemisphere. And it doesn't plan to build just one hub in New York City, but five hubs with 136 public charging stalls in total. "The only way mass EV adoption will ever happen in New York City is if the charging infrastructure is there to support it," said Revel CEO & Co-Founder Frank Reig. "We need high-volume, public sites in the neighborhoods where people actually live and work, and that's exactly what Revel is delivering with our growing Superhub network." Read on to find out just where the biggest one with 60 fast-charging stalls and all the others will be built.
