Honda Shares Photos, Some Specs for 2024 Prologue Electric Crossover Honda took the wraps off the long-awaited Prologue this week, revealing its next electric model. This is our first look at the automaker's most important EV launch to date, with the crossover showcasing a new design language—signaling a significant departure from previous Honda designs. "A young team of designers set out to create a modern and fresh SUV, with clean and simple surfacing," the automaker notes. "Neo-rugged was coined as the design direction, bringing the harmony of nature's elements to the exterior and interior of Prologue. This design direction is reflected in details like the panoramic roof and large 21-inch wheels, which give the model a capable and planted exterior." The design of the Prologue's front fascia, meanwhile, was influenced by the well-received Honda e concept. Immediately apparent from the model's profile is its long wheelbase. The automaker points out that the Prologue will be eight inches longer than the 2023 Honda CR-V. "Our goal was to create a clean harmony based on a rugged SUV image by coordinating the colors and materials to express neo-rugged design styling that's familiar to our customers and uniquely Honda," said Masaki Sumimoto, design lead for the Color, Materials and Finish. When will we see it on sale stateside? Read on to find out.

Tesla Delivered a Record Number of Cars in Q3 A few days ago Tesla revealed its third-quarter 2022 numbers, disclosing it produced 365,923 vehicles and delivered 343,830. This is good news for Tesla overall, with the automaker eclipsing the 2021 third-quarter numbers by a wide margin. But there are a few items industry analysts are keeping their eyes on. For starters, the Austin and Berlin gigafactories have had sluggish launches since opening earlier this year, and the Shanghai plant suffered down time at various points in the year. Additionally, the Model S and the Model X have effectively become niche products in Tesla's lineup, collectively accounting for just under 20,000 cars produced in this quarter. The two models are now very pricey and quickly becoming dated, despite a number of updates in recent months like their yoke steering. How long Tesla will be able to convincingly keep both models in production without complete redesigns is becoming a more urgent question as a number of direct rivals arrive on the market. |

2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Sports Sleek Design, Loungey Interior Space The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is easily one of the most distinctive EV sedan design we've seen in years, as it harkens to streamline-era cars like the Stout Scarab for inspiration. But the unusual look has a purpose: The Ioniq 6 promises big gains in range thanks to the wind-cheating bodywork. And it's a sedan that could finally offer some real competition to the Tesla Model 3. "We put every effort into designing the most efficient car in the EV segment," said Byung Hoon Min, head of the Total Vehicle Performance Development Center at Hyundai Motor Company. "Our focus on improving aerodynamics helped to achieve one of the longest all-electric range vehicles available, which will reduce customers' EV range anxiety and help grow the segment." The sedan's aerodynamic efficiency isn't the only item that will try to dazzle buyers. The interior is just as avant-garde as the exterior, with twin 12-inch screens and a minimalist cabin. Based on Hyundai's Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Ioniq 6 will offer a choice of two battery sizes, and rear- or all-wheel drive layouts when it goes on sale. But what is it like to drive? We headed to South Korea to find out. |
