The second half of our tour will get rolling with a walking tour of Stuttgart led by an experienced tour guide. We will discover landmarks such as the Town Hall, public squares (such as Schillerplatz and Palace Square), and the Art Deco-era Markthalle. We will visit an old gathering place known as Marktplatz and see the town hall, explore the food paradise known as Markthalle, and walk past Freidrich Schiller Square.
Later in the day, guests will be free to see more of Stuttgart on their own before reconvening for dinner at the hotel. Rest assured, there is much to see! Animal and nature lovers can plan a stop at Wilhelma: A unique combination of zoo and botany in Germany's only zoological and botanical garden. Walk down Königstrasse. Known as the shopping mile, it is the longest pedestrian shopping street in Germany. To get a glimpse of history and a great view at once, head to Birkenkopf. Also known as Rubble Hill, this hill has been built up by rubble and remnants of war. With the Staatsgalerie,Stuttgart Opera House, Liederhalle, Porsche Arena, Stuttgarter Ballet, Staatstheater, and Kunstmuseum, Stuttgart has many performing arts centers and theaters to choose from. The Stuttgart ballet and Opera house are world-renowned with year-round shows, and many are centrally located downtown in the heart of the city. |
