China Is Getting the Updated Tesla Model Y First Five years after the Model Y arrived on the scene, it's time for a mid-cycle facelift for one of Tesla's most popular models. But the US won't be getting it first among the major world regions where the crossover is produced. And Tesla isn't exactly known for smooth transitions while refreshing its admittedly aging lineup. The 2025 Model Y, codenamed Juniper, is now going into production in China, with Europe up next, promising a bit more range and a revised suspension meant to smooth out the ride. A few other tweaks have been made inside, though the most noticeable changes on the outside will be the new front and rear fascias. ChargePoint Makes a Cut-Proof Cable to Deter Thieves The brave new world of public EV chargers brought with it a slew of new phenomena: Awkward locations with few amenities, different charging connector formats, and intermittently working stations. It also brought with it charger theft and vandalism, thought to be mostly driven by copper thieves. And they've been stealing the charging cables themselves, even though there's not that much copper in them to begin with. Now, ChargePoint is rolling out what could be a theft-proof charging cable, combining a number of different technologies to prevent cable theft. But will these measures be enough?
