Cadillac Opulent Velocity Concept Imagines an Electric V-Series Hypercar The annual Monterey Car Week events have long ago become stages for concept reveals, just like car shows. And this year was no different as Cadillac brought a concept imagining a V-Series 2+2 coupe, one that could be just as ready for the track as for the morning commute. That's an ambitious set of targets for any one vehicle to hit, even in this day and age when some electric crossovers deliver supercar-style launches from red lights. It's not lost on industry observers that a large electric coupe has yet to materialize on the market, with most EV makers still studiously fielding various crossover and SUV models in search of sales. So Cadillac may not even face many direct competitors were it to turn this into a production model in the coming years. But is it something we're likely to see in production form anytime soon? |

2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 Piles On the Posh We're still in the midst of a BEV truck wave, and the latest contestant in this category has just entered the studio. GMC's second electric pickup (behind the Hummer) is the Sierra EV, and as usual buyers are getting the top trim first before the base model and all the other trims arrive. Dubbed the Denali Edition 1, this launch special throws the options book at this version of the Silverado EV and its GMC Hummer EV siblings. If you're wondering just what particular role the Sierra EV is destined to play in this Ultium-based trio of trucks, it is that of the luxury electric pickup, even though mechanically it is identical to the Silverado EV RST. Just like the top Chevy EV, this truck has an estimated range of 440 miles and is powered by a massive 205.0-kWh battery. But there are a few crucial differences inside and out, as well as just under the skin. |

Here's How Much the 2025 VW ID. Buzz Will Cost The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is finally, definitely headed to our shores later this year. And we know that because VW has just revealed the pricing, EPA range, and trim details for its retro microbus, ahead of its long-awaited arrival. But we have a feeling the ID. Buzz may not quite become a direct competitor to the current crop of gas or hybrid minivans, instead landing in the niche of a lifestyle crossover, and perhaps becoming an alternative to the likes of the Kia EV9. Another bit of good news is that the EPA ranges of the RWD version and the 4Motion AWD version are almost identical. So there won't be some big penalty for picking the AWD model and then having buyer's remorse over missing out on those miles, while also paying more for an extra motor. The model landed right about where we expected it price-wise, and another bit of good news is that the model range at launch doesn't let the higher-spec ID. Buzz stretch into the stratosphere to the point of doubling in price. Here's what you need to know about the debut ID. Buzz model range. |
