Faraday Future FF 91 Adds a $309,000 Launch Edition
It's been a while since we first saw the Faraday Future FF 91, but the future imagined by this EV seems to be finally within our grasp. Or rather, the grasp of those who'll be able to afford it.
The large crossover certainly seemed futuristic six years ago, but now its performance specs are notably less futuristic, thanks to Lucid Motors' Air sedan and other EVs.
The month of March saw production finally begin after a series of delays stretching back years, but the startup did not announce detailed pricing for its lineup of FF 91 variants based on the single design until this week.
As hinted in the past, the FF 91 lands firmly in mid six-figure territory, requiring sums that at one point (and perhaps to this day) could afford a reasonably spacious suburban house. There is a slightly more affordable version on the way as well.
But the pricing announcement does not quite answer the question of who, exactly, this EV is for. For instance, is it for EV owners trading out of the Tesla Model X, people contemplating three Mercedes-Benz EQS sedans, or buyers shopping for their seventh EV to add to an extensive stable of vehicles?
Brace yourself for these numbers.
