More automakers are adopting Tesla’s charging standard

Rivian Is the Latest to Adopt Tesla NACS Connector      Rivian became the third automaker in the past few weeks to reveal plans to adopt Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS), following similar moves announced by Ford and General Motors. Rivian owners will be able to start using Tesla's Supercharger network next spring thanks to a cable adapter, before the models themselves start offering built-in NACS charging ports in 2025.    Starting next year Supercharger stations will likely have lines of vehicles that aren't Teslas waiting to recharge.    But Rivian is different from Ford and GM in one other aspect (besides having been an EV-only manufacturer from the start).    Rivian has invested in building up not one but two charging networks of its own, with the EV maker's Adventure Network aimed solely for the exclusive use of its owners, in addition to a wider Waypoint network for all EVs.    Will Rivian's adoption of NACS alter its plans for 3500 DC fast-chargers to be part of Rivian's exclusive Adventure network? READ THE FULL STORY Cadillac Escalade IQ Confirmed as the EV Version of the Deluxe SUV           With the debuts of the GMC Hummer EV and the Chevrolet Silverado EV, we knew it wouldn't be long before we saw a certain large Cadillac use the Ultium platform. Such a model is on the way, Cadillac confirmed this month, with the Escalade IQ set for a reveal in just a few weeks.
