Volvo Finally Gets Its Flagship EV, the EX90 This week Volvo took the wraps off the EX90—its electric flagship SUV—after years of rumors and anticipation. The full-size SUV will now occupy the top spot in the brand's growing electric lineup, and it arrives at a time of surging interest in electric luxury sport utilities. "The Volvo EX90 is a statement for where we are, and where we are going," said Volvo CEO Jim Rowan. "It's fully electric with a range of up to 300 miles on a single charge, designed to further raise our safety standards, the first Volvo car to be truly defined by its software and part of a wider ecosystem, connecting to your home and your other devices." What does the 2024 Volvo EX90 promise? For starters, a dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout powered by a 111-kWh battery, with the two motors producing 517 hp and 671 lb-ft of torque. With 250-kW DC fast charging capability, the SUV should be able to get an extra 111 miles in just 10 minutes, while also offering bi-directional charging hardware. But the EX90 is more than just about power, range, and charging times. "The Volvo EX90 is the start of something new for Volvo Cars in many ways," Rowan adds. Read on to learn about all the new tech that will be available in Volvo's electric flagship. |

Here's What the Updated Audi Q8 e-tron and Sportback Promise The Audi e-tron may have kicked off Ingolstadt's electric era, arriving on the scene in 2019. But four years is a long time in the auto industry, and now it's due for a refresh. Say guten morgen to the updated and renamed Q8 e-tron and Sportback—a name change that had been overdue—and one that reflects just how many other e-trons we're getting, with the Q8 e-tron name denoting its size and position in the lineup. What's new for this model? Audi has tweaked the front and rear fascias of the electric luxury SUV, giving the Q8 e-tron a more modern look with a new metallic honeycomb-style grille design, in keeping up with the styling of the smaller Q4 e-tron that arrived this year. Audi plans for a massive bump in range via the 106-kWh (net) battery that could bring it quite close to the 300-mile mark in the EPA cycle. At the moment, Audi is claiming up to 373 miles in the European WLTP cycle, but of course our own EPA figures won't be quite that optimistic. It should offer a substantial gain over the model's current 222-mile rating. Read on to see what else Audi has changed in the Q8 e-tron and the SQ8 e-tron lineup.

Will We Ever Get This Honda EV Sedan in the States? If you've been waiting and wondering just when we'll see an electric Honda Accord, the automaker revealed something close to such a model, at least in spirit. And it's headed into production. Just not over here. The automaker gave the world the first glimpse of the e:N2 concept in Shanghai a few days ago at the Fifth China International Import Expo, following up on a series of three concepts we saw just over a year ago. The e:N2 Concept is thought to preview a near-production car. The sedan is expected to use the e:N Architecture F platform, which already underpins the e:NS1 and e:NP1 SUVs that Honda developed with its Chinese joint ventures. And this sedan will be next. Of course, at this point you're certainly wondering just when the US will get an electric Honda sedan. US-built EVs are certainly in the works, and just last month Honda shed some light on just when we'll see EVs based on Honda's own platforms—rather than GM's—reach production stateside.
