Tesla Reveals Longer-Range Model Y When it comes to Tesla's lineup, trims can appear and disappear without warning. This goes not only for pricing, which can change drastically weeks or days apart, but also for just how much range one could get from a particular model. The month of May gave some Model Y owners and shoppers a curveball of sorts: Not only is there a "new" version in the form the Long Range RWD with 320 miles of range, but it turns out the old Standard Range RWD flavor may have actually been capable of more than its advertised 260 miles. That's because the EV maker has recently indicated that its battery was software locked, and those who wish to get more range out of it may do so in the future. But the driving force behind all of these rapid changes is still thought to be softening demand. |
