Will We Ever Get Chinese EVs in the U.S.? In the past couple of decades we've heard several Chinese automakers voice their ambitions to launch sales in the US, each time claiming the move to be just two to three years away. But despite all these plans, a major brand from the Middle Kingdom has yet to land stateside, not taking into account some low-speed EVs not licensed for the road. The same isn't true for Europe, where several prominent Chinese brands have launched sales operations. A number of them have opened offices in the US, if not yet sales outfits. This year's edition of the Shanghai Auto Show fully reflected just how big a player in the EV market China has become, with a vast number of brands displaying their latest concepts and production cars.
