Should Ford Offer This EV in America? Mini MPVs are a popular segment in Europe, but one that hasn't really gotten much traction stateside despite a few cameo appearances. And this segment is about to get a new electric entry from Ford, in the form of the E-Tourneo Courier. The compact EV, which was given an SUV-style flavor, will pair a spacious interior for five with an urban-friendly footprint, designed to make it appealing for weekend getaways and city life alike. "We designed E-Tourneo Courier to help customers get the most out of life—whether out with family and friends or coming home with the rear seats flipped and bikes in the back—and the exterior design expresses that 'no-nonsense' character," said Amko Leenarts, design director of Ford Europe. For now, Ford plans to offer this model only in Europe. But is it something that could also sell well stateside? |

A New EV Corridor Will Link These US and Canadian Cities US and Canadian officials have revealed plans this week for a cross-border charging network that will link several cities, stretching from Kalamazoo, Michigan, all the way to Quebec City about 900 miles away. Dubbed the Alternative Fuel Corridor, this route will feature 215 charging stations just on the Canadian side alone, covering a route that will roll through Montreal and Toronto on its way to Detroit. The stations themselves will be located within 6 kilometers, or 3.7 miles of the main highways along the route, including I-94 and three other highways in Canada, all the way northeast to Quebec City. The corridor is designed to cover a number of major auto assembly centers and other industrial hubs in this part of Canada and the US, but should also make it easier for tourists from the US to reach four of eastern Canada's major cities. "There's nothing more Pure Michigan than accidentally driving into Canada, and now that journey will be electric on either side of the border," said Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Read on to find out more about this project.

Will the US Ever Get This Honda EV? Honda's next EV for the US is still a few months away, but the automaker is prepping a different model for Europe, one that will land in a different segment as well. Dubbed the e:Ny1, this EV was revealed just days ago, and it will seem more than a little familiar to some of our readers. The e:Ny1 will use the automaker's e:N Architecture F platform, with a 68.8-kWh battery underneath. This will give it a range of well over 200 miles in the WLTP cycle, and plenty of power for the kind of driving it's going to be doing. "The e:Ny1 is the logical next step on our electrification journey in Europe," said Tom Gardner, Senior Vice President at Honda Motor Europe Ltd. "Our development philosophy blends intelligent, customer-centric technology with beautiful design and fun-to-drive dynamics. This latest SUV exemplifies Honda's commitment to electrification and is the latest step on Honda's electrification journey." But there are a few things this model won't offer, which should also make it more affordable than a number of other EVs on sale at the moment. Should Honda bring this model to the US?
