Lancia Relaunches as an EV Maker with New Logo Lancia is reinventing itself for the EV age, and it's starting with a new design language—and a new logo. The 116-year-old Italian luxury marque, rarely seen stateside and perpetually in the shadow of its larger corporate parent, is trying to find its voice again just as the industry goes electric. And it's aiming to make a statement with the Lancia Ypsilon and Delta in a few short years. "The new era of Lancia starts today with a new Logo and a clear design vision" said Luca Napolitano, Lancia CEO. "In anticipation of the new Ypsilon, the first vehicle of the new Lancia, we are introducing Lancia Pu+Ra Zero, a sculpture, a three-dimensional manifesto which inspires the vehicles that will be launched between 2024 and 2028." Faraday Future Gets New CEO as Production Nears Scheduled production of the Faraday Future has been solidly in the future for as long as we can remember. The company is still trying to make its uncompromising vision of the future a reality, weathering more storms than other startups that have since folded. The aspiring EV maker has just received EPA certification for its FF91 Futurist, promising 381 miles on the full charge, as it inches toward production. But a recent shakeup has seen the company part ways with its CEO at a crucial stage, with Xuefeng "XF" Chen taking over the top role. "The FF 91 Futurist will deliver a unique user experience of the Ultimate Intelligent TechLuxury. With the completion of the manufacturing #6 milestone, we are just one step away from start of production," said Mr. Chen. The FF91 still promises blistering numbers, but even before reaching production its attributes have already been upstaged by Lucid Motors in several categories. More importantly, has the EV market moved on from the early adopter era of six-figure electric supercars?

Lordstown EV Trucks Begin to Arrive, but How Many More Will Be Made in 2023? Lordstown Motors, in limbo for much of the past three years, has finally started delivering trucks to customers after commencing production in September of this year. But this doesn't quite mean that the automaker will be making lots of them—or that it has the money to produce more than the first 500 units. The innovative pickup, which features in-wheel hub motors, recently received certification from the EPA and CARB. "The Endurance will provide benefits to customers that use their vehicles for work. It optimizes key attributes of traction and maneuverability—with our in-wheel hub motors, safety—with our five-star crash performance, and value in the segment," said Edward Hightower, Lordstown CEO and President. But the company's manufacturing plans aren't quite geared to make the truck compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning. Here's what's going on with the Ohio-built electric truck.
