2023 Mercedes EQS SUV Delivers the Goods—Electrically The Mercedes EQS SUV is finally here, set to offer plenty of space inside along with the luxury and tech you've come to expect from Stuttgart. The electric SUV flagship is the latest addition to the brand's ever-growing lineup, and it arrives in a busy year for new electric models from the Germans. At launch, the EQS SUV will be offered in two versions: the EQS 450+ featuring a rear-wheel-drive layout serving up 355 hp, and in the dual-motor EQS 580 4Matic with 536 hp on tap. Additional versions are on the way, but for now these two will rule Mercedes' electric SUV lineup. "The look-and-feel is a sumptuous fusion of digital luxury and innovative new trim elements, while the 'purpose design' of the electric-vehicle architecture delivers exceptionally generous SUV interior dimensions," Mercedes promises. The difference in price between the two versions of the EQS SUV is not trivial, even if serious buyers should easily be able to afford either variant. With a Maybach version in the works, they will soon be upstaged when it comes to luxury features (if such a thing is possible). Read on to find out how the two versions of Mercedes' electric luxury yacht compare.

VW Gen.Travel Autonomous Concept Is So Ugly It's Cute Volkswagen has been working on autonomous tech for some time, and it already has robotaxi prototypes that it plans to put on the road in 2024, based on the ID. Buzz. But the retro-styled electric MPV isn't the only body style that VW is thinking about when it comes to electric vehicles with advanced autonomous tech. A few days ago VW took the wraps off the Gen.Travel concept, setting its sight on Level 5 autonomy, the kind that requires no input from humans and can operate on all roads in all traffic conditions. The adventurously-styled concept is... very different from the sleek EVs we've become used to seeing, with Wolfsburg clearly attempting to make a style statement. Is this what the future of autonomous EVs could look like? Read on to see the interior and find out what VW has in mind with this design. |

Faraday Future FF 91 Gets EPA Range Rating The start of deliveries of the Faraday Future FF 91 is still firmly in the future, but the long-delayed luxury crossover has received an official EPA rating. The EV will offer a range of 381 miles, placing the electric model into the top tier of EVs when it comes to range. "The confirmation of our 381 miles of range by the EPA is truly exciting news for FF and validates what we know about the FF 91: the segment leading FF 91 will be the first high-end, high-performance, luxury, intelligent EV and will reset customer expectations for both driver and passenger experience," said Dr. Carsten Breitfeld, Global CEO of Faraday Future. It'll still be far from the range leader—or rather two other range leaders. Read on to find out how the FF 91 Futurist stacks up when it comes to range, power, and price.
