Car of the Week: 1967 Chevrolet El Camino

The number one of its kind - Uncovering Chevrolet's first 1967 El Camino.

We've seen it many times. Even the most compulsive of old car collectors can eventually reach a point where they (or perhaps it's "we") realize that it's time to thin the proverbial herd.

Out in northwestern Montana, Bob Olsen has been collecting the classics since the age of 15. As a youngster, he received his head start into the old car hobby as his father, a minister, owned and operated a wrecking yard, well stocked with older inventory.

Today, Olsen is more than a collector. He's an accomplished hands-on builder and restorer, as well. With occasional rare assistance from ringers with various specialties, Olsen has created a rather eclectic assemblage, which subtly reflects his personal affinity for early Corvettes — and 1967 El Caminos.

Our right to modify and maintain our vehicles is in jeopardy

SEMA SAN is asking you to contact your state representatives to support the bipartisan REPAIR ACT H.R. 6570 that allows hobbyists to modify and maintain their vehicles.

The REPAIR Act (Right to Equitable and Professional Auto Industry Repair), H.R. 6570, is a bipartisan bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would ensure enthusiasts, specialty businesses, and repair shops have access to the information and tools that are needed to produce and install parts that are used to maintain and upgrade the cars, trucks, and SUVs we love. Without Congressional protection, vehicle data from automobiles and their components may become off-limits.

Old Cars We'd Buy That: 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air station wagon

This survivor Chevy wagon is a beauty. This will surely be a solid restoration subject for one lucky buyer. Yeah, we'd buy that!

VanDerBrink Auctions has a bunch of cool cars and parts that we'd like to get our hands on in its July 16 auction in Commerce City, Col. The auction will feature a "barn find" collection of Chevrolet cars and parts, including a lot of "Tri-Five stuff" and there quite a few vehicles that collectors will be drooling over.

One that really grabbed our attention is this original, unmolested 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air station wagon.
