Mary Corey's story says that overall owner satisfaction was 851 out of 1,000, up 4 points from last year and the highest level since the study's redesign in 2020.
Scores in all 10 categories of owner satisfaction improved compared with the previous year for the first time since 2019.
The categories with the highest gains were fuel economy, with an improvement of 13 points, followed by infotainment and interior rankings, both up 6 points.
The APEAL study, which accompanies the annual J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study and J.D. Power U.S. Tech Experience Index, measures owners' personal attachment and level of excitement toward their new vehicles. Owners are asked to consider 37 attributes of their vehicles, and their responses are aggregated to compute an overall score.
Porsche led premium brands and Mini led mass-market brands.
This year's study was based on responses from 92,964 owners of 2025 model year vehicles surveyed after they had their new car for 90 days.
In other news, Tesla's road to being a robotaxi company will likely be rocky, Kia is reshaping its U.S. sales strategy and AutoNation second-quarter net income was down significantly.
And don't forget to check out the latest buy-sell transactions.
That's it for now.
Have a great weekend.
