The Sony/Honda Afeela 1 Is in Pre-Production The Sony-Honda collaboration dubbed the Afeela 1 is still a thing that's happening, and it's getting ever closer to reality, unlike many other things we've seen at CES over the years. The Afeela 1 sedan has just entered pre-production at Honda's Ohio plant. And despite there being no shortage of electric sedans near the hundred thousand dollar mark, which the Afeela 1 will join, the Japanese industrial duo believes its offering will be distinctly different from what Tesla, Lucid, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, and others have offered in this field. The pricing for the two trims, Origin and Signature, has been revealed, with both due to start arriving by mid-2026, so it's time to dig in to see just what the Afeela 1 will serve up that sets it apart from the likes of Tesla and Lucid. Here's what this new EV brand hopes to offer EV shoppers.

Could the Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss Be Your Everyday Truck? GM's Ultium pickup lineup now spans no fewer than two brands with several versions within each, so one cannot claim that there is a shortage of electric pickups on the market. And while the GMC Hummer EV played the role of the halo model early on, it was abundantly clear that the real test of the tech underneath would come when Chevrolet would offer trucks that might actually get repeat truck owners interested. That truck is the Silverado EV, and in base form it starts just north of the $50,000 mark. But the sweet spot in the lineup may well rest a little further up with the purposeful but not decadent Trail Boss, which will keep its distance from the GMC Sierra EV trucks with their nicer interiors. We've just spent a week in the Silverado EV Trail Boss and came away very impressed, even though we see the logic of the more basic trims below it as well. Here's what the Trail Boss offers. |

Mercedes-Benz Offers a Sneak Peek at the New GLC EV Mercedes-Benz tried to divide its lineup into two distinctive design languages a few years ago, keeping the S-Class and E-Class very different from their EQS and EQE electric siblings. But earlier this year that strategy was largely scrapped, with Mercedes opting for a family look no matter the drivetrain—or at least something far less concerned with aerodynamics to the exclusion of everything else. In a matter of weeks Mercedes-Benz will take the wraps off the new GLC-Class—a wildly important crossover in its lineup sales-wise—while also revealing a new grille design that will filter through to the rest of the range. Even now its retro influences are abundantly obvious, with the brand taking a look at some of its historic models. But will buyers be on board with this particular aesthetic? Here's what Mercedes-Benz's next-phase design philosophy promises.
